After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Katherine entered the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and was awarded an MFA as part of the first graduating class in their Masters program.

In 1995, she began working under the tutelage of her father, master glass artist, Paul Stankard, which ended in 2009.

She is now pursuing her own solo career in hot and cold glass.

Katherine resides in Southern New Jersey.
